Building a website with WP Cooper is simple, fast, and doesn’t require any extra plugins. WP Cooper is a modern WordPress block theme powered by Full Site Editing (FSE), which means you can design and customize your entire site from the homepage to headers, footers, colors, and fonts all inside the WordPress editor. With ready-made templates and a library of patterns, you can quickly launch a professional website for your business, portfolio, or startup.
This documentation covers everything you need: installing the theme, setting up your homepage, switching templates, customizing blocks, and updating your site to keep it running smoothly.

Getting Started
WP Cooper is a modern block-based WordPress theme built with Gutenberg, so there’s no need to install additional plugins to access its builder. You can start building your website by simply installing the theme.
Follow these steps to get started:
Step 1: Prepare Your WordPress Site
- Make sure you have WordPress installed on your domain or hosting.
- Ensure you are using the latest version of WordPress to avoid compatibility issues.
Step 2: Install WP Cooper
You have two options, depending on whether you want the Free or Pro/Premium version:
Free Version:
- Go to your WordPress dashboard.
- Navigate to Appearance → Themes → Add New.
- Search for WP Cooper.
- Click Install → Activate.
WP Cooper Pro:
- Purchase WP Cooper Pro from our website here.
- Download the WP Cooper Pro theme ZIP file.

Once WP Cooper or WP Cooper Pro is installed and activated, you are ready to start customizing your website and building your pages with Gutenberg blocks.

Purchase WP Cooper Pro
WP Cooper Pro gives you access to premium patterns, starter templates, and priority support. The purchase and license process is powered by Freemius, making it easy to manage your license and updates.
Step 1: Choose Your Plan
- Visit the WP Cooper website and go to the Pricing page.
- Select the plan – Premium Version.
- Click Buy Now – $49, and you will get a pop-up to enter your personal information and credit card details.
- You can select if you want license for Single Site, or 100 Sites. Also you have option to get annual plan for lifetime plan.
💡 You’ll receive a confirmation email with your purchase details and license key.
Step 2: Download the Pro Theme
- After completing your purchase, you will receive an email with the license and a link to download wp-cooper-pro.zip.
- Alternatively, you can log in to your https://wpcooper.com/my-account and download from there as well.
- Download the ZIP file to your computer.
Step 3: Install Freemius for License Activation
Freemius handles licensing, updates, and subscriptions. You’ll need your license key to unlock these features.
- Go to your WordPress dashboard → Appearance → Theme License.
- Click Activate License.
- Enter the license key you received via email.
- Click Activate.
Once activated, the WP Cooper Pro theme is ready to be used, fully licensed, and you can start customizing your website.
- Enable theme updates in your WordPress dashboard.
- Manage your license status.
- Provide access to premium patterns and features.
✅ Now your WP Cooper Pro theme is ready, fully licensed, and you can start customizing your website.

Install & Activate Theme
After downloading the .zip file of the theme, you can now upload to your website via the WordPress dashboard.
- Go to Appearance → Themes → Add New → Upload Theme.
- Click Choose File, select the wp-cooper-pro.zip or wp-cooper.com, and click Install Now.
- For premium users, you will get a popup to enter the license. Enter the license key received after purchase.
- After installation, click Activate.
✅ Your theme is now installed and ready. Next, you can start setting up your homepage and customizing your site.

Setup Your Homepage
By default, WordPress shows your latest blog posts on the front page. However, with WP Cooper you will see the homepage, even in default for your ease. Incase, you have assigned other pages as homepage then you still be able to change it.
Set a Static Homepage
- In your WordPress dashboard, go to Settings → Reading.
- Under Your homepage displays, select Your latest posts.
- Save changes.
Assign a different homepage
If you’d like to create a temporary “Under Construction” page, you can assign it from the same dropdown menu.
- Go to Pages → Add New.
- Title the page Home or Under Construction (or any name you prefer).
- Publish the page.
- Go to Settings → Reading.
- Under Your homepage displays, select A static page.
- From the dropdown menu, select the page you want to set as your homepage.
- Save changes.
✅ Your homepage is now set up!

Edit Site (Homepage)
Now that you’ve assigned your homepage, it will appear live on your website.
To edit it:
- Visit your site (e.g., yoursite.com).
- At the top admin bar, click Edit Site.
- This will open the Site Editor, where you can customize the entire homepage with blocks and patterns.

Change Template
Once you’ve opened the Site Editor, you can easily change its layout using WP Cooper’s pre-built templates.
- Click the + Add Block → Patterns button in the editor.
- Browse the list of available homepage templates/patterns.
- Select the template you want to use and drag it.
- After selecting a new template, click Save in the top-right corner.
- Visit your homepage to preview the updated layout.
✅ This allows you to swap homepage templates quickly without affecting other pages on your site.

Add or Change Inner page Templates
WP Cooper comes with pre-built templates for inner pages, making it easy to create pages like About, Services, Contact, or any custom page without starting from scratch.
Step 1: Add a New Page
- Go to Pages → Add New.
- You’ll see a pop-up with pre-built page templates.
- Browse the list and select a template that fits your needs.
- If you don’t want to use a pre-built template, you can close the pop-up to use the default blank layout.
Step 2: Edit a Selected Template
- Once you pick a template, it will load in the editor.
- Customize the page by replacing text, images, and blocks as needed.
- If you need more design options, you can easily add additional patterns from the available patterns library.
- When you’re done, click Publish → Save.
Step 3: Use the Default Layout
- If you choose the default blank layout, you’ll see a blank page in the editor.
- Add your content directly using blocks for static pages like: Privacy Policy, Terms & Conditions, Simple informational pages
💡 Tip: If you want a more designed page later, you can always go to Patterns → Template List and insert blocks or pre-built templates relevant to your page.

Switch Color & Fonts
WP Cooper theme comes with a set of carefully selected color palettes and font styles that are ready to use. These presets are designed to give your website a modern and consistent look right out of the box.
However, you’re not limited to just the defaults you can also customize the colors and fonts to match your brand identity or personal style.
1. Change Colors
- Go to Appearance → Editor from your WordPress Dashboard.
- In the editor, open the Styles panel (the half-shaded circle icon on the top-right).
- Select Colors.
- Choose from the theme’s built-in color presets or create your own custom colors.
- Once done, click Save to apply the changes across your site.
2. Change Fonts
- From the Styles panel, select Typography.
- Choose from the available font presets included with the theme.
- If you prefer, you can also set your own custom fonts (depending on the typography options available in your setup).
- Adjust size, weight, and line height as needed.
- Click Save to update your site.

Configure Site Identity
Your site identity is what gives your website its personality. It includes your site title, tagline, logo, and site icon (favicon). Setting these up ensures your visitors instantly recognize your brand.
1. Access Site Identity
- Go to Appearance → Editor from your WordPress Dashboard.
- Open the Styles panel (half-shaded circle icon).
- Select Site Settings → Site Identity.
2. Update Site Title & Tagline
- Site Title: This is the main name of your website (e.g., WPCooper).
- Tagline: A short description or slogan for your site (e.g., Fast, Creative WordPress Themes).
- These appear in your header, browser tabs, and search results.
3. Add Your Logo
- In Site Identity, click Logo.
- Upload your logo or select an image from the Media Library.
- Adjust the size as needed.
- Save your changes.
4. Add a Site Icon (Favicon)
- Still in Site Identity, choose Site Icon.
- Upload a square image (at least 512×512 pixels).
- This will appear in browser tabs, bookmarks, and mobile shortcuts.
5. Save Changes
Once you’re happy with the settings, click Save to apply them across your entire site.

Configure Header & Footer
Your header and footer are important areas of your site where you typically display your logo, navigation menu, social links, and other key information. With WP Cooper, you can easily switch or customize them using pre-built header and footer patterns.
1. Open the Site Editor
- Go to Appearance → Editor in your WordPress Dashboard.
- From the top bar, click Patterns.
- Navigate to the Header or Footer section.
2. Choose a Header Pattern
- We’ve built multiple header designs for you.
- Simply drag and drop your preferred header pattern into place.
- Once inserted, you can:
- Add your site logo
- Edit or reorder your navigation menu
- Add buttons or social icons if needed
3. Choose a Footer Pattern
- Similar to headers, you can select from our footer patterns.
- Drag the footer you like into the bottom of your site.
- You can customize:
- Copyright text
- Footer menu links
- Social icons
- Widgets or blocks (like a newsletter signup or contact info)
When you’re done, click Save. Your selected header and footer will now appear across your site.

Switch or Remove Patterns
Patterns are pre-designed sections included with WP Cooper that help you quickly build beautiful layouts. You can replace them with other patterns or remove them if you no longer need them.
1. Open the Site Editor
- Go to Appearance → Editor in your WordPress Dashboard.
- Navigate to the page or template where the pattern you want to change is used.
2. Switch to a Different Pattern
- Select the section (pattern) you want to replace.
- Click the block toolbar options (three dots menu).
- Choose Replace or delete the current section.
- From the Patterns panel, browse the available categories (Hero, Testimonials, Features, etc.).
- Click or drag the new pattern into your layout.
3. Remove a Pattern
- Select the pattern you want to remove.
- Press Delete on your keyboard, or click the three dots menu → Remove.
- The section will be removed, leaving space for you to add another pattern or block if needed.
4. Save Changes
Once you’re done switching or removing patterns, click Save to apply the changes to your site.
